The Covanta Warren Energy Resource Company, L.P., Facility, located in rural western New Jersey, began commercial operation in July 1988. It serves Warren County and the surrounding areas. The facility can process up to 548 tons per day of municipal solid waste, generating up to 13.5 megawatts of clean renewable energy that is sold to Jersey Central Power and Light, a First Energy Company.
The facility is owned and operated by Covanta Energy, Inc. It is an integral part of the solid waste management plan for the county.
