Covanta Bristol, Inc. owns and operates the Bristol Resource Recovery Facility. Covanta Bristol, Inc. is owned by its parent company Covanta Energy, Inc. Covanta Bristol, Inc. is located in Bristol, Connecticut. The Facility has operated continuously, 24-hours a day 7-days a week, since it began commercial operation in 1988. The facility processes aproximately 200,000 tons per year while operating 16.3-Megawatt (MW) electical generator with an output of 16 MW. This is the equivlent of the electical consumption of 16,000 homes. Covanta Bristol, Inc. also performs ferrous recovery and recycles approximately 6,000 tons of metal annually.
