The Facility has operated continuously, 24-hours a day 7-days a week, since it began commercial operation in 1989, excluding maintenance activities. The facility processes approximately 260,000 tons per year while operating 23.5-Megawatt (MW) electrical generator with an output of 22 MW. This is equivalent to an estimated electrical consumption of 20,000 homes. Covanta Stanislaus, Inc. also performs ferrous metal recovery and recycles approximately 5000 tons of metal annually.
