Over 65 percent of our nation’s waste is buried in landfills annually. As waste decomposes in a landfill, it produces methane gas, a greenhouse gas that is 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide (CO2) in terms of its contribution to global warming. By choosing to divert your solid waste to our EfW facilities, you will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions otherwise created by landfills. Each ton of your waste processed at an EfW facility will lead to the reduction of one ton of CO2 equivalent greenhouse gas emissions on a national average.
